On November 4th, the land of Dongguan sparkled with stars, where the precise pulse of manufacturing and the passionate spirit of industry professionals converged. After months of intensive preparation, the 10th anniversary celebration of the Dongguan CNC Tool Industry Association and the 2025 7th China International CNC Tool Festival ‘Xin Minghui Night,’ co-hosted by the China Machinery Industry Metal Cutting Tools Technology Association and Dongguan CNC Tool Industry Association, with Shenzhen Xin Minghui Diamond Tools Co., Ltd. as the main sponsor, concluded successfully. As an important industry event before the opening of the DMP Greater Bay Area Industrial Expo, this event added another glorious memory for ‘Chinese tool professionals’ to Dongguan, a land renowned for its legends of precision manufacturing.
This edition of the Tool Festival centers on the theme of ‘Co-building, Co-sharing, and Co-winning,’ meticulously crafting two core events: the ‘AI Empowered Materials and Intelligent Cutting Integration Innovation’ Summit Forum and the ‘Xinminghui Night’ Gala Dinner for a thousand guests, creating a high-end platform for the industry to facilitate technical exchanges, resource collaboration, and discussions on the future. Looking back to 2015, eight organizations, with enthusiasm, joined hands with over fifty pioneers, and the seed of the Dongguan Tool Association quietly took root in the fertile soil of the manufacturing industry; over ten years of trials and progress, the association has grown from a small initial exploration in Dongguan into an industry benchmark nationwide. From a fledgling collaborative group, it has developed into a community of destiny that unites nearly a thousand members. We have always carved each precision with craftsmanship, overcome every challenge through collaboration, and interpreted innovation as the resilience and strength of ‘Chinese Tool Professionals.’ Today, as the lights of the 7th China International CNC Tool Festival illuminate the night sky and the chimes of the tenth-anniversary celebration echo at the venue, every smiling face marks a trace of hard work, and every handshake conveys the expectation of mutual success.

These ten years are not only a decade of growth and strengthening for the Dongguan Tool Association but also a period in which we collectively witnessed domestic tools moving from ‘catching up’ to ‘leading the way.’
Gathering of Experts: The Summit Forum Sparks Intelligent Cutting Innovation.
One of the core segments of this year’s Cutting Tools Festival—the “AI Empowering Materials, Intelligent Blade Integration and Innovation” Summit Forum—was hosted by Yang Tongjun, Party Branch Secretary/Executive Vice President of the Dongguan Cutting Tools Association and Chairman of Guangdong Dachuan Machinery Co., Ltd. In his opening remarks, Domn. Yang stated that with the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology and the manufacturing industry, CNC cutting tools, as the “teeth of industry,” are entering a critical transformation period from “traditional manufacturing” spre “intelligent manufacturing.” This forum focuses on the innovative integration of AI and materials science, aiming to gather industry wisdom, solve development challenges, explore future trends, and guide the high-quality development of the industry.
At the forum, several key industry guests made their appearances. Xu Gang, Secretary-General of the China Cutting Tool Association, pointed out in his speech that domestically produced CNC cutting tools are currently accelerating their leap from ‘followers’ to ‘innovators.’ In core areas such as cemented carbide inserts and cermet cutting tools, large-scale independent production has already been achieved, but breakthroughs in high-precision and cutting-edge fields are still needed to overcome technological barriers. He emphasized that AI technology will become a key force in solving these ‘bottleneck’ problems. The China Cutting Tool Association will also promote the construction of industry standards and technological empowerment through the establishment of an Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Committee, helping local enterprises build three-dimensional competitiveness in ‘technology, brand, and service.’

As the host, Wang Baiqiang, President of the Dongguan Knife Association, in his speech, deeply analyzed the current state of the industry’s development and future opportunities. He mentioned that the global manufacturing landscape is undergoing profound adjustments, traditional growth engines are facing challenges, and “developing new quality productivity,” “promoting the upgrade from manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing,” and “expanding domestic circulation” have become the core directions for breaking through in the industry. For the CNC tool industry, future competition will no longer be a contest of scale and standardization, but a battle of customization, flexibility, and user-friendliness driven by data. “Tool companies need to shift from ‘manufacturing products’ to ‘mastering data’ and carry out customized R&D centered on user demand in order to seize opportunities amidst change.” President Wang’s views resonated strongly with the guests present.
